Two additional individuals, identified as Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4, have initiated legal proceedings against the renowned pop singer Gloria Trevi, alleging her direct involvement and facilitation of a heinous sex cult orchestrated by her ex-manager Sergio Andrade. The 98-page lawsuit, as reported by Rolling Stone, asserts that Trevi, alongside her co-defendant Mary Boquitas, not only recruited young girls for Andrade but also actively participated in and perpetuated the systemic sexual abuse.
The lawsuit paints a grim picture of manipulation and coercion, with Jane Doe 3 recounting how Trevi allegedly led her to Andrade’s bedroom, effectively forcing her into a situation where she was raped. Post-assault, Trevi is claimed to have thanked her, suggesting that her compliance had ‘saved’ her sister. Jane Doe 3’s allegations extend over several years and across multiple countries, culminating in the arrest of Trevi, Andrade, and Boquitas in Brazil in 2000 after an international manhunt.
This legal action follows a year after two other Jane Does initiated a lawsuit against the same defendants, detailing how they were lured into the sex ring at the ages of 13 and 15. The prior complaint utilized a temporary lift on the statute of limitations for childhood sex abuse claims in California, while the latest lawsuit avails of a different “lookback” window, catering to adult sex abuse claims coupled with attempted cover-ups. The plaintiffs assert that their abuse included trips to Los Angeles County and elaborate efforts by the defendants and their production companies to conceal the abuse, including enforced abortions and isolation from external contacts.
In a disturbing revelation, the lawsuit alleges that Trevi manipulated other girls and women into compliance by threatening suicide. One instance describes Trevi’s dramatic exit, causing panic and a frantic search by the group to prevent her purported suicide. This act was supposedly intended to coerce a 13-year-old girl into submitting to Andrade.
While Trevi, now 55, has categorically denied these accusations, asserting that she was a victim of Andrade’s “grotesque” abuse, the lawsuit portrays her as a willing and active participant. Allegations include her direct involvement in group sexual assaults and the instigation of physical abuse against other members of the cult.
Trevi’s troubled past with Andrade has been a subject of public scrutiny for decades. Known for her rebellious anthems and bold persona, she faced a barrage of accusations in the late ’90s, leading to her and Andrade’s arrest in 2000. Despite her subsequent acquittal due to insufficient evidence, the narrative of her as Andrade’s accomplice has persisted, especially with the unfolding civil litigation in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Meanwhile, Andrade, once revered in the music industry, was convicted of rape, kidnapping, and corruption of minors and has remained relatively elusive, with his current whereabouts unknown.
This lawsuit adds another layer to the complex and disturbing saga involving Gloria Trevi, Sergio Andrade, and their alleged victims. As the legal proceedings unfold, the public awaits further revelations and judicial determinations regarding these grave allegations.
